The review in the district panchayat

The Public and Bastar News reported that Deputy Chief Minister and Kawardha MLA Vijay Sharma and Tourism and Culture Minister Rajesh Agrawal reviewed the corridor on Monday in the Kabirdham district panchayat hall. The wall behind them reads जिला पंचायत कबीरधाम, and the banner is the Bhoramdev Corridor development project review.

Bastar News quoted him: several work orders were already eight or nine months old, and the construction was still slower than expected. He asked every contractor for a full work plan and a target for each 15 days, and for the set works to be finished 10 days before the Bhoramdev festival. A review would follow every 15 days. A contractor who missed the target would be taken off the work, and action would follow the contract. Khabarwaad reported the same warning.

A separate Chhattisgarh Darpan note, of a circuit-house inspection led by the Deputy Chief Minister with Tourism Board managing director Vivek Acharya, lists what the drawings cover: the temple complex, an entrance, a museum, visitor facilities, landscaping and planting, and work on the tank. That note does not place Rajesh Agrawal in the room.

The same Kawardha visit

Prayers, and what he said about the building

Fourth Eye News reported that before the review he offered prayers and performed jalabhisek at Siddheshwar Mahadev and Sankat Mochan Hanuman, both in the Rani Sagar tank complex at Kawardha. The report says he prayed for the happiness, prosperity and health of the people of the state. The photograph shows him at worship. It is not labelled as one shrine rather than the other.

New construction should rest on the temple’s history, so that its character survives. The effort is that Bhoramdeo be known internationally, not only nationally.

Rajesh Agrawal, as quoted by Lalluram after the review. Lalluram described the works as PRASHAD. The scheme named on this page is Swadesh Darshan 2.0.

The sanction

₹145.99 crore, Swadesh Darshan 2.0

Fourth Eye News and Punjab Kesari both state that the Union tourism ministry has sanctioned ₹145.99 crore for the Bhoramdev Corridor under Swadesh Darshan 2.0. The aim they record is to widen facilities and to join the temple with other places nearby as one visit. The same ₹145.99 crore figure is the one he stated at the 26 August 2026 departmental briefing, as carried by Indian Masterminds.

The Public and Bastar News, writing up the Kawardha review, put the cost at about ₹146 crore under Swadesh Darshan. Lalluram described the works as PRASHAD at about ₹146 crore. Swadesh Darshan 2.0 is the scheme named here, because more than one outlet uses it and it matches the figure at the briefing.

Bhoramdeo Temple stands at Kawardha. Tourism writing commonly calls it the Khajuraho of Chhattisgarh, for the sculpture on a Shaiva temple associated with the Naga rulers of the region. The corridor is meant to add visitor facilities around that monument.
